Hi Pack 3179 Families!

We are in full swing of exciting Scouting activities, but our June annual planning meeting will be here before we know it!

Our Ventura County Council has announced the date and opened registration for this summer's Cub Scout Shooting Sports Day!

On Sunday, June 23rd Scouts have the opportunity to safely learn how to engage in archery, BB gun and slingshot
target practice. Cub Scouts who are Tiger rank or higher are eligible. (Scouts who will be Lions this fall are not eligible).

There is a morning (9 am-12n) and an afternoon session 1-4pm. Sessions are limited to 75 scouts each.
Cost is $25. Registration is online: https://www.vccbsa.org/Adventure 

In previous years Scouts have earned the Shooting Sports patch for their rank. It is a great day!

Once you have registered your Scout via the VCCBSA website, please come back to the Pack website
and RSVP for Shooting Sports event on the calendar.

Get ready for some fantastic fun! Mark your calendars for our next Pack meeting, Monday, May 20th. It is Raingutter Regatta time!
Scouts will power their regatta boats on inflatable water tracks. Check with your den leader to get your boat! The Raingutter Regatta serves as a
Pack 3179 recruiting event. We encourage you to invite your classmates, neighbors, teammates, siblings or any interested child entering kindergarten through five grade this fall.
Potential Scouts will be able to participate in the regatta as well.
Pizza, veggies/fruit and cookies will be served!

Scouting Outdoor Gear Swap

In addition to the boat racing festivities, we are also hosting a Gear swap at the meeting. Please start checking your closets, garage and sheds now.
Bring the hiking shoes/boots that have been outgrown, backpacks that have been replaced and no-longer-needed camping gear to the swap.

A Scout is thrifty! This is a free give-and-take swap.
Any gear that is left over following the meeting will be donated.

Dear Cub Scout families,

As you know an awe-inspiring astronomical event—the Solar Eclipse of April 8, 2024 is on Monday!

This rare celestial occurrence offers a fascinating opportunity for our Scouts to witness the beauty and wonder of the universe.
While many Scouts will be at school during the peak viewing hours (and not at home to view the event), all of our Scouts can earn the BSA Eclipse Patch!
(Your Scouts Den Leader will have the patches!)

Hi Scouting Families,

Enjoy a hearty breakfast at our charter organization, the VFW Post 1679 at 3801 Market Street!
Every Sunday, brunch is served from 10 am to 1 pm. Children are welcome!
There is a kid-friendly area for your children to enjoy.
