WHEW! Busy, busy, busy!!

Posted on Sep 13 2014 - 10:50pm

Hi Everyone!!!

There is LOTS of  "behind the scenes" work going on right now!!
Kelley Bray, needs a hug, and a Popsicle, for all her efforts!!
PLEASE!! Bring her one of each at the Pack Meeting, Monday, 6:15-7:30, Mound School Cafeteria.
And, lets get the POPCORN, out of her living room!!!
Please pick up your Sample Pack, give her a check to hold, and get it done, ASAP!!
THANK YOU KELLEY, and THANK YOU BRAY FAMILY!!
We had 5 cars in line to pick up popcorn this morning. (See the FB pictures!)
Judging by the reaction of the Scouts loading our cars, I think we had one of the biggest pre-orders, if not THE biggest.
Big Thank you to, Marat, Kelley, Wendi, Corey, Christine, and Sara, for picking up, and sorting the inventory!!
You guys ROCK!!!
I didn't get a chance to see the folks at Lowe's selling today, but, I heard it went well!!
Thank you Cub Scouts, for getting out there, and selling Popcorn!!
And, Parents, we can't do this without YOU!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Don't forget to ask Kelley, for a shift you can take, and sell some Popcorn!
We have a limited amount of time to get this done, and it will be over, before you know it!
So, ask Family, Friends, and Neighbors, if they would be willing to support your Cub Scout Pack!!

On to other business:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE:
If you haven't already filled out, and turned in your Health & Medical forms, part A & B! PLEASE DO!!!
We need one for each and EVERY member of your family, that will be joining us, at Pack activities,.... And, YES, that even means your second cousin's nephew's daughter, who will be visiting from Ohio, the weekend of the KOA Family Camp,.... Thank you!
I have asked a member of each Den to be the point of contact, and collect the forms Monday, at the Pack Meeting.
If you don't bring them from home, there will be forms there, to be filled out, and turned in.
The Points of Contact are as follows:
TIGERS: Ashley Bautista (Most of you already know her, and you guys are really "on the ball", as well! So, thank you for making her job easier!!)
WOLVES: See Corey McKinney, He's prob wearing a Denver Bronco's Football jersey,... JK!
It will be a SD Chargers jersey!
BEARS: You'll turn in your H&M forms to me, Tren Morris,  PLEASE.
Webs 1: Both Dens, See Kelley Bray/ POPCORN QUEEN EXTRAORDINAIRE!!
Webs 2, See Wendi Tidwell!!
THANK YOU ALL, who are collecting, and ALL who will bring their forms, and make these people's lives easier!!
WHOOT, WHOOT!

I think that's it for now!!
I have to share this with all of you, over the last couple weeks, I've had the opportunity to get to know a number of the newer members of our Pack, and I have to say, Impressive, Fantastic people, one and all,.. All willing to help in some capacity, maybe just not sure what that might be, and others, willing to volunteer for things that they see, needs to be done! THANK YOU!! It is just very impressive to me!
Those that were able to make it to the Parent Meeting, GREAT JOB, and THANK YOU!!
We were able to get in, get the work done, and get out, 9 mins early!!
Given all that we covered, that is an impressive feat!!
Have a FANTASTIC weekend, and I'll see all of you Monday Night!!

Cheers,

welcome to the 2014-15 Cub Scouting year!!!

Posted on Sep 5 2014 - 8:55pm

Welcome to another GREAT year of Cub Scouting!!
First a BIG shout-out to David Swanson-Hollinger!! Former Parent Committee Chair.
That man has left some BIG SHOES to be filled!!!
Sometimes you don't know what a person has done, until you are asked to do it!
He has done so much, over the last two years, for this Pack, it's crazy!!
When you see him, THANK him personally for all he has done!!
THANK YOU, DAVE!!

We had many great leaders rotate out when the Weblos 2 graduated to Boy Scouts, to those leaders,...
THANK YOU for your service, and we wish you the best, to you, and to your young men in Boy Scouts!
On that note, we have had some FANTASTIC people step up to take the call of, PLEASE help!!!
If you have recently stepped down from a position, please get with the person filling your roll, give them guidance, encouragement and any materials you might have to help them fill their new role, comfortably!
To those stepping up, Bruce Winker, Taylor Emerson-Bird, Inessa Gelman, Shyam Krishnan, Candice Imler Denise Fulk, Sara Small, and Brandy Tillery,.... THANK YOU!!!!!
Remember, Parents, and Grandparents, there are lots of jobs, big, and small, that need to be filled to help the Pack and Dens run smoothly. Don't be afraid, we've all been “NEW”, at these jobs..... We are all here to support each other, and do what is the best for our young Cubs. (FYI: I haven't forgotten about you, Jeannette Provencio!) Stepping up, could be as easy as bringing the treats to the Den meeting, loaning an extra backpack, sleeping bag, or tent, to a family/boy who may not have one, and/or teaching one of the requirements, from the book the boys are using to achieve rank.
If you have a special talent, and would like to share it with the Pack or Den, speak up! A fine example of this is Spence Pickett. He has taught the Engineering requirement to Webelos previously, and came to us, and asked if we needed it done! Thank you, Spence. And Welcome to you, Elizabeth and Reece to the Pack.
That's what we need.

Remember, ALL of us are parents, grandparents or guardians of boys in the Pack, and ALL of us are volunteers. NO ONE, gets paid.
We need the help of the parents to keep it all together!
I promise you, you will get more out of it, than you put in!!
It just seems to workout that way!!

As always, if you EVER have any questions, hit up one of the leaders, if they can't answer your question, they will be able to find some one who can!
I have an “open door”, my “door” is always open to hear new ideas, suggestions, or problems you may need my help with.

Cheers for now,

Leaders~ Double Check your Dens!

Posted on Sep 5 2014 - 8:54pm

Den Leaders and Asst. Den Leaders (DL's & ADL's),
Please double check your Dens, and make sure you know of the Scouts, that are new to your Den, or perhaps I may have placed Scouts in the Wrong Den, and need to correct it. Also, PLEASE let me know of Scouts that are no longer with the Pack, and need to be removed.
I know someone let me know of a Scout that wanted to be removed, and I can't remember who it was,....
Please let me know.
PARENTS: If you would please make sure I have your boy(s) in the correct Den(s), as well.
Also, There have been a few people asking to have a second parent, or grand parent added to the e-mail list, please e-mail me those. Thank you!
Any corrections, please e-mail me, at uncletren@hotmail.com.

I hope to see everyone at the Parent meeting next Monday night!

A NOTE FROM THE QUEEN!!

Posted on Sep 5 2014 - 3:16pm

HELLO EVERYONE!!!

It was good to see most of you at last night's first pack meeting!  I am sending out the info and important dates for this years popcorn sales.  Please feel free to contact me with questions and concerns.  Also, if you are planning on not taking a sample pack and just writing a $150 check to the pack please let me know as it will affect our ordering.

Other up coming events you should know about!!!

Posted on Sep 5 2014 - 3:15pm

Upcoming Dates, and Events!
POPCORN!! POCORN!! POPCORN!!
At the last Pack meeting sales sheets were handed out!
Now is a great time to get out there and sell the popcorn!!
If you didn't get a sheet, contact your Den Leader/Den Popcorn Kernels, Or, Kelley Bray (805-216-9489)/Sara Small (909-921-5820) and get one, so you can start!
The boxes, that each scout needs to sell, will be $150
Also, Kelley, and Sara can help you with “Show and sells”, where we sell popcorn, in front of different locations around town.
I believe the dates on those are Sept 13th, and Sept 20th.

PARENT MEETING:
Our 2nd Parent meeting of the year will be held Sept 8th, at the VFW, 6:30-8:30pm. The address is 3801 Market St., Ventura, CA., 93003
I know we all have families and kids waiting for us at home and these meetings have a reputation of running long. However, I'd like to end the meeting promptly at 8:30, so PLEASE be there, and ready to go by 6:30.  We always have lots of ground to cover in these meetings. These are pretty boring meetings for the boys but if the choice is, not attend the meeting, or attend, and bring your boy(s)/kids, PLEASE bring them!!
As “Wild Red Bearded-Man”, Asst Cub Master, and Webelos 1 den leader, Craig Carey, always says, “To be “early”, is to be “on time”, to be “on time”, is to be “late.”
Let's get in, get out, and get 'ER done!
I'd like to invite ALL Parents to this meeting, a special emphasis on the parents that just filled new roles in the pack, and at LEAST one representative from EACH DEN! I'd love to see all of you there!

REQUIRED ACTION BY EACH AND EVERY ADULT IN THE PACK:
YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING:
It is 20 minutes of your life, on the computer, that will protect YOU, as well as YOUR BOY!!
It is good for two (2) years!
Please get this done, ASAP.

NEXT PACK MEETING:
September 15th, 6:15-7:30pm

Keep this on your radar as well!!!!
KOA Family Camp out!!!
October 3rd-5th!!!!
HEALTH FORMS A & B WILL NEED TO BE SUBMMITTED, PREVIOUS TO CAMP, FOR EVERYONE ATTENDING CAMP!! SCOUTS, PARENTS, GRAND PARENTS, SIBLINGS, ETC,.....
This is a SUPER FUN EVENT, NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!

I hope to see ALL of of you at these events, as we step in to the next year of Cub Scouting, and make GREAT MEMORIES, for our boys, and families!!!!

Cheers, for now,
